Raul Díaz-Torres obtained his PhD at the University of Barcelona (UB) and Material Science Institute of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) in 2018 under the supervision of Prof. Núria Alcalde, based on the design of multifunctional materials for magnetic and electronic applications using supramolecular and surface chemistry. During this period, he complemented his research with a stay in H.S.J van der Zant Lab in Delft University of Technology (2015), in Euan K. Brechin’s group at the University of Edinburgh (2016), and in José Zagal’s group at the Santiago de Chile University (USACH) (2018). In 2019, he joined the FunTech group at Walailak University (WU), as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. David Harding, focusing on the development of iron(III) complexes with spin-crossover properties. In 2022, he moved to Thammasat University as a postdoctoral fellow, where his research centered on the development of Metal-organic frameworks and coordination polymers with gas adsorption and heterogeneous catalysis properties. In 2023, he returned to the University of Barcelona with Dr. David Aguilà working in supramolecular multifunctional magnetic switches.
